“Everyone did what was right in their own eyes.” – Judges 21:25

Viewpoint: With a death rate of 28 people dying for every 100,000 people, Saudi Arabia has one of the world’s highest reported death rates due to car accidents. As part of its Vision 2030 plan, the Saudi government is trying to reduce those deaths. Many of these deaths are caused by reckless driving, such as passing on the shoulder, cutting in and out of traffic without looking or signaling, and speeding. Many drivers in KSA, both Saudis, and expats, have an “inshallah” (if God wills) mentality: if they get into a car accident, it was because God willed it; there was nothing they could do to avoid it. Most Saudis do not know the hope and life transformation that only can be found in Jesus Christ. Without the True King ruling their lives, they try to do what seems good in their eyes.

Prayer Points: Pray that the uncertainty and fatalistic attitude around driving in KSA will cause people to question whether they trust God and to see the brokenness in their hearts. Pray that God will reveal Himself to Saudis so they may have the True King, Jesus Christ, ruling their lives.
