99 Names of Allah

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name…Philippians 2:9 ESV

Viewpoint: Saudis and other Muslims believe that Allah has 99 names recorded in Islamic writings. They believe memorizing and reciting these names will help them get to paradise. In some places in KSA and other Muslim countries, the “names of Allah” are posted on signs along roads or at stoplights to remind people to memorize and recite them. Many Muslims also use sets of 99 prayer beads to help them count and chant the 99 names while they pray. Yet another way in which they try to earn credit toward salvation.   

Saudi Muslims must hear about Jesus, “the name that is above every name.” They must know that the only way to salvation is through accepting that Jesus died on the cross for them. They need their hearts and minds opened to hearing and receiving the Gospel.   

Prayer points: Please pray that throughout the rest of 2023, many Saudi Muslims will hear about Jesus and want to know who He is. Ask that many Saudis will have an opportunity to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.
